In the regular season, we hardly faced anybody that pressed us. Valley Christian did it to us the first game of the year. I told the girls in the first quarter we had to weather that storm.

They will chuck the threes and come at you.

A lot of the little bickering things that I hear with other teams, the jealousies, I can always bring it back to, hey, where's your relationship with the Lord? We just don't have the little catty things that go on.

I wanted to convince them there's a better way to do stuff, and they've been great about it.

Big schools don't necessarily lead to scholarships. It's more important to have a good reputation, and it's well known that we have a team that can compete.

We only scored 30 points. It was sloppy. If you would have told me that's what was going to happen, I would have bet you a million bucks we were going to lose.

I wasn't concerned that they wouldn't come out ready. The only concern I had, and it's kind of like the feeling I have now, I loved the victory, but it's not the feeling I had Monday night against Valley Christian. That was an emotional game, that was a war.

She was instrumental in breaking their full-court pressure. It was a rugged game and a major defensive battle.

We're still trying to build that continuity. But there are times when I think we're better than last year.

We respect the program Scott has built. It's always a challenge to play his teams.
